Special Education & Student Support Services

The School District of Springfield Township has an extensive array of programs and services that provide the opportunity for all students to achieve the ultimate benefit from their educational experience. The following categories fall under the umbrella of Student Services: Special Education, School Psychology, Gifted Support, Guidance/School Counseling, Health Services, and Social Work Services.

School health services are provided by certified school nurses and staff nurses to all Springfield students as well as students attending non-public schools within the District. Routine health services include height, weight, vision, hearing and required screenings.

In addition, our offices coordinate requests for accessibility for people with disabilities and those who communicate more comfortably in a language other than English. Participation in school events is encouraged and the district will make all reasonable attempts to accomodate specific and timely requests for accomodations and translation support.   If you require accommodations under ADA in order to participate in a school/family activity, please contact a Building Principal for a specific event or need.  For families requiring an interpreter (sign language, spoken language), please also contact the Building Principal to make the request.

You may also contact the Office of Special Education and Student Services at (215) 233-6000 x1021 for further assistance or general information.

There are two new parent programs coming up! Check out our new page "Training & Workshops" to find more information!
