Average Class Size

The average class size in our Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classes is 20 to 21 students. In grades three through five, the average is 24 – 25 students, and at the secondary level, the average is about 25 – 26 students, depending on the course.

Currently we have 2,462 students enrolled in our four schools, Enfield Elementary (grades K, 1 and 2), Erdenheim Elementary (grades 3 – 5), Springfield Middle School (grades 6 – 8), and Springfield High School (grades 9 – 12).

The latest statistics from the Pennsylvania Department of Education list the cohort graduate rate of the high school at 100%, one of the highest levels in the state, while 82.91% of the senior class typically attends a two or four- year college.

Professional Staff Members

The district employs 270 professional staff members, of which 217 are classroom teachers. The remainder includes specialized staff, including special education teachers, occupational and physical therapists, speech and language teachers, guidance counselors, social workers, psychologists, intervention specialists, English as a Second language teachers, and reading specialists.
