About the Tax
Springfield Township levies a Local Services Tax (LST) to fund the cost of government services. All residents and non-residents alike who are employed in Springfield Township are required to pay an annual LST tax of $52.
Collecting the Tax
All employers located in Springfield Township will be required to withhold the Local Services Tax from all employees at the rate of $52.00 per year, except those employees that file an exemption form because they expect their earnings to be less than $12,000.
Please note the quarterly due dates shown on the forms. Employers shall be required to remit the Local Services Tax thirty (30) days after the end of each quarter.
If you are self-employed and your business is located in Springfield Township, you will be responsible for remitting the $52.00 LST to Berkheimer. These payments are due quarterly as well.
