Mr. Joshua Hibbs
8th Grade SS
I joined the Springfield Township Middle School team in the spring of 2021. Before my time at Springfield, I taught 7th-grade English and US History at MS 180 in the Bronx for three years and spent five and a half years teaching history in charter schools in North and West Philadelphia, respectively.
I grew up in the suburban Philadelphia area, graduating from Hatboro-Horsham High School. I went on to study at Iona University (Iona College back then), where I received my undergraduate degree in International Studies, minoring in History, all while competing on Iona's prestigious cross country and track program. I stuck around Iona to earn my Master's in the Science of Teaching.
My family and I now live in the district and send our daughter to the district schools. I enjoy running and hiking through the Wissahickon, traveling to National Parks, and spending as much time as possible outside. I believe that my experiences will help foster an engaging, relevant classroom where students can feel a sense of community and learning.
