Mr. Andre Hayes

Welcome to a new school year at Springfield Middle School!  I look forward to a very exciting year in math class, as we explore a wide variety of math topics that are both fun and enriching

I began teaching at Springfield Middle School during the 2012-2013 school year.  Throughout my tenure, I have primarily taught math, however, I have experience teaching science and social studies as well. Prior to Springfield, I taught algebra for three years, at the high school level, in the School District of Philadelphia. My professional work experience also includes 15 years working in the insurance industry.  In my spare time, you can usually find me in the gym working out, running, or coaching basketball.  I also enjoy spending time with family which includes my wife and two daughters. 

Building strong relationships with my students is the foundation of my teaching philosophy. I consider myself a facilitator of learning. I allow for my students to provide input regarding the pace, and, direction of the instruction in my classroom. Every student has a chance to succeed in my classroom, provided that they put in their best effort possible, take academic risks, and, seek help when needed.

I look forward to serving the community of Springfield Township for another year at the middle school.   GO SPARTANS!!
