Ms. Cathleen Dougherty

Hello! My name is Cathleen Dougherty.  For the past twenty-plus years, I have worked as both an elementary and intermediate school counselor.  During this time, I have had the opportunity to work with students delivering classroom lessons, facilitating support groups, providing individual counseling, and teaching/supervising peer mediators/leaders.  

Although a Philadelphia suburban native, my career actually started in beautiful southern California.  During my twelve years there, I spent ten years working at the intermediate level. When I made the decision to return to my roots, I was thrilled to secure a counseling position in Springfield Township School District. 

For the past ten-plus years, I have had the privilege to serve children as an elementary counselor at both Enfield and Erdenheim. The children were wonderful and the teaching staff was outstanding. My time spent at the elementary level has filled me with a lifetime of wonderful memories. 

When the opportunity presented to move to the middle school, I had no hesitation in saying yes as my passion has always been the middle school population. The opportunity to be back working with adolescents and all of their idiosyncrasies really challenge me to put my counseling skills and life experiences to good use.

My hobbies include traveling, photography, coaching, sports, spending time with my family and friends, and delivering random acts of kindness.

My greatest gift is my daughter Ryleigh. She inspires me to live abundantly and motivates me daily to be the best mother, counselor, friend, family member, and leader.
