Swimming Lessons at STHS

Due to a staff shortage, there are currently no dates for Community Swimming Lessons for the Fall of 2023. As soon conditions allow, lesson information will be posted here.

Swimming Lessons at Springfield High School are for children who are interested in learning how to swim or refine their strokes. **Must be potty-trained! Class size ranges from 3-5 children per instructor, depending on ability. Class size is limited and fills on a first come basis. Classes are held on Saturday mornings between 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.  Classes are 30 minutes long. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced level classes are available.

Lesson Level Descriptions

Beginner First time ever taking swim lessons, are not comfortable putting face or head in the water, usually around the ages of 3-4
Advanced Beginner Comfortable putting face and head underwater. Understands the basics of swimming, but still needs assistance. Should feel comfortable using a kick board.
Intermediate Comfortable swimming freestyle of their own. Can swim at least the width of the pool by themselves. Knows the basic of backstroke.
Advanced Can swim near perfect freestyle. Will learn the other four competitive strokes.

Fees

$50- 1st child in family
$45- 2nd child in family
$42- 3rd child in family

Cancellation Policy

Classes cancelled due to inclement weather or a pool maintenance issue will be made up at the end of the session.
