James Taylor
French Teacher at STHS from 1985-2011, Education - Teacher
James attended Delaware State University. He also studied at Montpellier University in France. Mr. Taylor graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Education. James went on to receive two Masters Degrees in administration at West Chester University. James was the first African-American Teacher in the School District of Springfield Township, hired in the Fall of 1985. James taught all levels of French and was the Coordinator of the World Language Department. James helped create the Voices of Excellence, a club which promotes academic excellence, organizational, leadership skills, and emotional intelligence among its members. James was a major force behind Diversity Day, which has since been renamed in his honor as James Taylor Day, A Celebration of Differences.
