Teaching 5th grade at Erdenheim Elementary is an absolute dream come true for me! My name is Abbey Peake - I am honored to be apart of the 5th grade team in this wonderful school community. It is a true privilege to reach and teach these beautiful, talented children each and every day.

Some background information about me - my teaching career began in a non-traditional sense. My professional career originated in the business world. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Bloomsburg University. I was Director of Marketing and Business Development at a retail construction firm that built retail stores nationally. Business was great, my job was fabulous - life was good. However, there was something missing. There was an unfulfilled feeling inside of me. I yearned to work from the heart, to reach out and touch others' lives. This is when the realization that I was born to teach came forth. From that moment, I obtained my certification in Elementary Education from West Chester University.

I was privileged to teach 2nd grade for 7 years at Hillcrest Elementary School in the Upper Darby School District. Each day I spent and continue to spend learning alongside of the children validates my career change. So much, that I recently obtained my Master's of Education with a Reading Specialist Certification from Cabrini College!

I am proud to say that I am a fellow Springfield Township resident and reside in Flourtown with my husband, David and our two children - Greyson and Olivia. Oh, and let's not forget our dear little West Highland White Terrier named Connor!

Aside from spending time with my family and teaching my students - I also enjoy the beach of Ocean City, NJ, traveling, reading and listening to all types of music!

Some of my favorite things are: dogs, quotes, chocolate ice cream and yes, thunderstorms!

Fifth grade is a fabulous year as the students shine as leaders in their elementary community and develop into middle-school prepared learners. This is going to be an amazing journey - a dream come true for me and most importantly for the children!

Oh, the Places We Will Go!
