My name is Tyler Lawson (Gibson) (he/they), and I am the music and chorus teacher at Erdenheim Elementary School! I teach music to every student in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, and I also teach our co-curricular school choruses. I also teach the a cappella group at Springfield Township High School.

I received my Bachelor's of Music Education from Temple University in the spring of 2015 and my Master's of Special Education from West Chester University in the spring of 2020. This September marks the beginning of my 9th year of teaching elementary music and my 8th year teaching at Erdenheim.

Music class provides many opportunities for all students to explore their creativity, share their talents, and grow as young people.  Music makes connections with people from all walks of life, making it an incredibly important class for all learners.  It is my goal to support each child in their own musical journey and help them to grow.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy doing puzzles, reading, caring for my plants, and, of course, singing! I sing with the Wallingford Presbyterian Chance Choir, and I am one of the group's section leaders. I also sing with The Olde Towne Carolers around the holiday season, frequently performing at beautiful holiday venues such as Longwood Gardens and the Devon Horse Show and Fairgrounds. I've had the pleasure of singing in a variety of fun performances, including singing with Hugh Jackman at The Wells Fargo Center, singing with Patti LuPone at The Kimmel Center, and even making a VERY brief appearance singing on an episode of Queer Eye on Netflix. I live with my husband in Philadelphia, and we love to sing together, as well!
