Mr. Thomas Hawley
Physical Education / Health
Mr. Hawley graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. He also holds a Masters Degree in The Arts of Education from Gratz College. As a teacher in the School District of Springfield Township he has served as a Health and Physical Education Teacher since 2004. Previous to his teaching in the township, he taught at the elementary level at Schuylkill Elementary, in the Phoenixville Area School District, and M.M. Seyler in the Pennridge School District. In his tenure as a teacher at Springfield he has taught: Team Sports, 9/10 PE, Conditioning, Fitness for Life, Racquet Sports, and Health. As a teacher in the district, Mr. Hawley strives to instill the importance of regular physical activity and the practices of healthy concepts.
In his time at The School District of Springfield Township, Mr. Hawley has coached in a variety of athletics. He currently coaches varsity tennis for the boys' and girls' teams and 8th grade basketball at the middle school level. Other athletics he has coached at Springfield include: varsity assistant softball, junior varsity field hockey, junior varsity/assistant varsity girls basketball, middle school girls tennis and middle school baseball. His dedication to the players on his team extends far past the athletic fields as he strives to improves the student's responsibilities in the classroom and around the community.
