Right to Know

The Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law allows the public to access many records from school districts and other government agencies.

Beginning in 2009, Pennsylvania expanded the definition of public records to include both electronic and paper records, with certain legal exceptions for items such as:

  • Security information
  • Medical records
  • Confidential personnel records
  • Criminal investigation records

How to Submit a Request

Step 1: Complete the Request Form

  • Open Records Request Form
  • Office of Open Records

Step 2: Submit the Form

  • Mail, email, or fax the completed request form to the district’s Open Records Officer.

Fees & Payment

  • Copies cost $0.25 per page

Payment options include:

Mail Payment

  • Send a check or money order payable to:
    School District of Springfield Township
  • Postage costs may apply depending on document size.

In-Person Payment

  • Bring cash, check, or money order during office hours:
    • Monday–Friday
    • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Records may also be viewed at no cost during regular business hours.
