Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Penn State University; Master's degree in Elementary Education from Temple University; Master's degree in School Counseling from Gwynedd-Mercy College
This will be my 18th year teaching in Springfield Township. For the first 16 years I taught both 3rd and 4th grade, and I'm very excited to begin the second year of my new (dual) role: Spartan Pride Time teacher/coach and Enrichment teacher/coach. Needless to say, I look forward to working with students and families in this capacity, and helping to create a safe, welcoming environment for all learners. Throughout my career I tried to stay true to three core principles: learning should be fun, every young person has the power to determine his/her own success, and that school is about much more than just academics.
Some other stuff about me...I was born and raised in Clarks Summit, PA and attended Abington Heights High School. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Penn State University, I went on to get a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Temple University. In June 2012 I also completed a Master's degree program in School Counseling from Gwynedd-Mercy College. Therefore, I am not only a certified teacher, but also a certified school counselor. I currently reside in Blue Bell with my wife, Cara, and two daughters, Lyla (9 yrs. old) and Emerson (6).
