Non-Public Transportation Information

The School District of Springfield Township provides transportation for eligible students and for students who attend certain non-public schools. We work to ensure safe and efficient service.

Non-Public Transportation Information

Who Is Eligible?

Transportation is available for students in grades K–12 who:

Live in Springfield Township
Attend a charter, private, or parochial school
Attend a school that:
- Is not for profit
- Is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
- Is located within 10 miles of the district boundary

Important Information

Distance is measured by the nearest public roadway
Transportation is only provided to schools that meet all requirements

Registering for Transportation / Annual Updates

Families requesting transportation for non-public schools must complete registration and update information each year.

New Students

Students new to the District

If your child has never attended Springfield Township Schools:

You must register directly with the district
Completing forms at your child’s school is not enough

How to Register

Complete the Pre-Registration Form through Enrollment Express
Wait for a confirmation email
Use the link provided to complete full registration

Important:
Full registration must be completed before transportation can be provided.

Returning Students

Annual Updates / Re-Registration

Families must update transportation information every year, even if nothing has changed.
If your child previously attended SDST, you must complete the withdrawal process first

2026–2027 Deadline

Deadline: July 1 at 6:00 AM

Late registrations will be processed as space allows
Transportation may be delayed at the start of school

How to Complete Your Update

Log into PowerSchool Parent Portal
Select your child’s name
Click “Forms” in the menu
Click "Non-Public Annual Update & Request for Transportation"
Complete the Non-Public Transportation Form
Repeat for each child

Change of Address

If you move within the township, you must provide:

Photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
Proof of residence (deed, lease, tax bill, or mortgage statement)
One additional document (utility bill, pay stub, W-2, or government ID)

Contact Transportation Office to update your address

Note: This process is for non-public school students only. Public school families should follow the district address change process.

Retrieving Bus Schedules & Transportation Information

Bus Schedule

Families can access bus schedules anytime through the Parent Routing Portal.

Schedules for the current school year are always available online
Schedules for the next school year will be posted in August
Registered families will receive an email notification when schedules are ready

Important Reminder

Students must be outside and visible at the bus stop at least 5 minutes early
Buses are not required to wait if they arrive within that window

Transportation Policies

Students may ride different buses or transfer routes for efficiency
Only students assigned to a bus may ride
All riders must be registered with the district

Safety Measure

Buses may have video and audio recording
Recordings may be used for safety, discipline, or legal purposes
There is no expectation of privacy on school buses

Behavior Expectations

Transportation is a privilege, not a right
Unsafe behavior may result in loss of bus privileges

Early Dismissal Transportation

Transportation will be provided for up to 5 early dismissal days
After that, transportation will run at regular dismissal times

Transportation During Holidays

No transportation will be provided on:

November 26, 2026 (Thanksgiving)
November 27, 2026 (Fall Break)
December 24, 2026 (Winter Break)
December 25, 2026 (Winter Break)
January 1, 2027 (New Year's Day)
January 18, 2027 (Martin Luther King Jr Day)
February 15, 2027 (Presidents' Day)
March 26, 2027 (Spring Break)
May 31, 2027 (Memorial Day)

Inclement Weather

If SDST is closed or virtual → No transportation
If SDST is delayed → Transportation is delayed
If SDST dismisses early → Transportation runs early
If schedules differ between schools → District will make every effort to adjust

If your child will not ride the bus:

Lost or Left-Behind Items

Lost items are kept at the Transportation Office:
103 W. Montgomery Ave, Erdenheim

Before Visiting:

Call or email first to check if the item has been turned in

Safety Reminder:

Be cautious around buses in the parking area
Do not drive behind moving or parking buses
