Instructional Programming and Course Overviews

Below is an overview of the instructional programs and curriculum areas offered in the School District of Springfield Township.

Our Approach to Curriculum

Our curriculum is carefully designed and regularly updated to meet student needs.
We follow a continuous cycle to:

  • Review what is working
  • Reflect on student learning
  • Improve and update instruction

Curriculum is not fixed. Course content and materials are reviewed and improved over time to stay current and effective.

Instruction and Materials

Teachers use a mix of resources to support learning, including:

  • Approved textbooks or primary resources
  • Teacher-created materials
  • Assessments to track student progress

New materials are reviewed through the district’s curriculum process to ensure they:

  • Meet academic standards
  • Align with district goals
  • Support student learning

Classroom Instruction

While the district provides a shared curriculum, teachers design lessons at the classroom level.
This allows instruction to:

  • Meet the needs of different learners
  • Be age-appropriate
  • Adjust based on student progress
