Child Find Statement
The School District of Springfield Township works to identify students who may need special education services or supports.
This process is called Child Find and happens throughout the school year.
Who May Qualify?
Students may qualify if they have a condition that affects learning, such as:
- Autism / Pervasive Development Disorder
- Blindness / Visual Impairment
- Deafness / Hearing Impairment
- Deafness / Blindness
- Developmental Delay
- Emotional Disturbance
- Intellectual Delay
- Multiple Disabilities
- Orthopedic Impairment
- Other Health Impairment
- Specific Learning Disability
- Speech and Language Impairment
- Traumatic Brain Injury
Requesting an Evaluation
If you think your child may need services:
- You can request a free evaluation at any time
- The request must be made in writing to your child's principal

Services Provided
If a student qualifies:
- Support is designed to meet the student’s individual needs
- Instruction and classroom accommodations are tailored to meet each student’s individual needs based on the results of the evaluation process.
The district also provides services for students with disabilities under Section 504, ensuring access to school programs.
Early Intervention (Preschool)
For children ages 3–5:
- Services are provided through the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit
- 610-755-9400
Communication & Access
- Information will be shared in English or the family’s preferred language
- The district will provide needed accommodations to support participation
Confidentiality
All student information is kept private and protected.
- Records are handled according to state and federal laws
- Information is only shared when allowed by law
