Mrs. Shelley Fox
Middle School Nurse
Hello! I am thrilled to be a part of Springfield Township School District! I grew up in Souderton and attended Souderton Area High School. Following high school, I attended Lehigh University where I played field hockey, and majored in Biology and Behavioral Neuroscience. I had originally envisioned a career as a pediatrician, but after volunteering in the Emergency Department at Pennsylvania Hospital, I quickly realized I was meant to be a nurse! I received my BSN from Villanova University, and worked in the acute care setting at both Lankenau Medical Center and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In 2018, I completed my certification in School Nursing K-12, and began working as the Certified School Nurse for both Gotwals Elementary School and Stewart Middle School in Norristown. As a nurse, I love learning and my particular interests include: maternal/ child health, school health, public health and health policy, vulnerable populations and healthcare access and equity. To that end, I am working to complete my Master’s of Nursing Science and Doctor of Nursing Practice at West Chester University.
A few other fun facts about me: my husband, Greg, and I have three children, Shepherd and twin girls, Turner and O’Neill. I love every kind of animal, but German Shepherd Dogs are my favorite. I enjoy running, hiking with my family, restoring our 1790 farmhouse, and when I have the time, I love a good documentary or reading historical non-fiction. Heroes include: Florence Nightingale and my mom.
