Local Services Tax (LST)

Springfield Township collects a Local Services Tax (LST) to help pay for important government services.

What Is the LST?

• The LST is a yearly tax of $52
• It helps fund local government services

Who Pays the Tax?

• Anyone working in Springfield Township must pay the tax
• The tax is usually taken out of your paycheck by your employer

Exception:

• You may be exempt if you earn less than $12,000 per year and submit an exemption form

How the Tax Is Collected

• Employers deduct the tax from employee pay 
• Employers send payments to the tax collector each quarter

If you are self-employed:

• You must pay the $52 tax yourself
• Payments are made quarterly to the tax collector
