What is the CARE Team?
The CARE Team is a team of faculty members and support personnel trained to identify and assist high risk students who are having difficulty in school due to depression, alcohol and/or drug abuse, or other mental health problems.
Why does Springfield Middle School have this program?
The primary responsibility of our school is to educate. If a student is depressed or feeling hopeless, the student cannot learn as effectively. If a student is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the student cannot learn. If a student's behavior is disruptive to the school environment, other students will not be able to learn and teachers will not be able to teach.
Who refers students to the CARE Team?
A student may be referred by a teacher, parent, counselor, nurse, administrator, psychologist, or by self-referral.
