JUST
ABOUT ANYTHING on the WEB!
Search
Engines
A
search engine allows you to search for specific topics. Use a search
engine to enter a keyword or a string of keywords into a search box.
The search engine matches words exactly as they are entered. When searching,
consider trying various keywords and using "and," "or, and "not" to
combine keywords. Search a phrase by enclosing the phrase in quotation
marks. If you need help, ask your librarian or check the "help"
page.

Subject
Directories
Subject
directories are organized listings of web pages arranged by subjects.
Using a subject directory is better than keyword searching if
- you
are looking for broad concepts,
- you
want to narrow your topic,
- you
cannot identify a keyword to search.
