Springfield Township Middle School's Library Media Center strives
to be a rich and exciting learning hub of the school. Besides
housing a traditional library collection, the Library boasts a collection
of electronic and audiovisual resources especially suited to the middle
school student. In addition, each year the Library offers a variety
of promotional activities aimed to encourage students' reading and
research. This website is used as a teaching and learning tool; it
is meant to enhance the Library program and to encourage students
to be able users of information.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday
8:15-4:00
Friday
8:15-3:15
Resources:
Books
for pleasure, research, special interests, and hobbies; Magazines
and newspapers; Audiotapes,videotapes, laserdisks;
CD-ROMs and other computer software; Computer
workstations with Internet access; Printers,
scanner, copy machine, video cameras, digital camera, projection equipment.
Circulation:
Students
may check out materials for the following time periods:
- Fiction Books -- Two Weeks
- Nonfiction
Books -- One Week
- Project
Books -- Overnight; Check out at the end of the day and return
during homeroom
period the next day.
- Reference
Books, Encyclopedias -- Overnight; same as project books.
- Magazines -- One
week for back issues;
current issues may be read in the Library
only.
All
materials must be returned to the Library and placed in the book drop
by the date
due. Materials may be renewed as long as no one else is waiting
to use them. Students
may reserve materials already in circulation.
