Social Studies The Social Studies program at the Middle School embodies the four principles that underlie the social science program across all grade levels. These are as follows: each individual and all people possess inherent dignity and worth; a thorough understanding of human nature and human achievements is a precondition to the progress of a society; and, finally, students must learn from history and from previous human experience how viable and successful societies can thrive and sustain themselves.
