In advance of class presentations, each presenter will have to address the
following questions:
Before presenting, do you
- know your audience (numbers, needs, interests)?
- have an introduction that can capture the attention of your audience
(frame the topic in a meaningful way)?
- have an outline of the points you wish to cover
- have an understanding of the historical context of your topic?
- know more about the topic than what you are presenting?
- have a screen with your essential question and position?
- have an understanding of the sources and studies cited as evidence?
Who were the researchers?
Where were they from?
Where was it reported?
What was the design of the study?
Who funded it?
What were the conclusion?
What are the implications?
- plan to discuss applicable modes of reasoning?
- have a summary and conclusion?
Did you
- work out the pronunciation of difficult names?
- test visual material for functionality and visibility and place the
file(s) on the appropriate disk?
- spell-check slides and copy the appropriate number of handouts?
- use appropriate design guidelines for the creation of visual material (
