Taking Notes

The key is to accurately paraphrase important information without lifting any of the author’s original language.  That would be considered plagiarism—even if you only copy a phrase!  If you plan to use a full quote, make sure you copy the quote exactly and clearly identify to whom it belongs.

Your note cards must be labeled properly, with a number in the top left corner that corresponds with the source card.  Put the topic in the top right corner, and don’t forget to include page numbers in the left margin!
