You are tracing the history of an issue from President Bush's agenda from 1980 through the present.  Your goal is to access and analyze contemporaneous reporting of the issue through recent history.  The following online and print sources will help.  Important note: Not all the materials from the 1980s have been digitized!

Examples of issues:

• Renewable Energy--What was the major energy issue in the 80s? 90s?
• Stem Cell Research-What was the major health issue in the 80s? 90s?

Note: If you are unable to trace your specific issue, check with Ms. Gibson about possibilities for branching out.

• R 973.921 Twe Twentieth Century America (A reference set containing news stories from the Associated Press)
• Browse the stacks for old issues of Time, Newsweek, Life, US News and World Report. These sources will give you both news stories and editorial cartoons
