Senior Thesis
Drafting #1500 (1 credit)
This course is intended to introduce basic principles of technical drawing and expand into orthographic projection, sectional and auxiliary views including use of CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) Software. It is strongly recommended for anyone anticipating a future in engineering, design or other technical field.
Architectural Design #1510 (1 credit)
This course is designed to probe deeper into the world of design. Layout designs required of an architect, engineer, electrician or craftsman would be emphasized. Students will design and draw up plans using CAD Software for residential and commercial structures. Planning a career in architecture, design, construction or other related fields? Then this course is for you. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or better in Drafting.
Photography I #1560 (.5 credit)
This course introduces students to the history and fundamentals of photography. The student will learn use and care of the 35mm camera including: lighting, depth of field, f-stops, shutter speeds and composition. Students will be introduced to the use of digital cameras. They will explore the current processes of digital imaging (PhotoShop 7) which begins with a conventional photographic image on film. The image will then undergo corrective processes and may then be further manipulated to add or subtract elements. Finally, the digital image is then converted back to analog form, the physical print. Students should have a manual 35 mm camera. Small film development fee required.
Photography II #1565 (.5 credit)
Advanced 35 mm techniques including motion, low lighting and fast shutter speeds will be covered. With the use of PhotoShop 7, the student will enhance their awareness of the design process as well as the manipulation of the photographic image. Students should have a manual 35 mm camera. Small film development fee required. Prerequisite: A grade of “C” or better in Photography I.
