707. USE OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND
GROUNDS

1. Purpose

The Board of School Directors of the School District
of Springfield Township has the responsibility for the maintenance
and protection of school district buildings and grounds. The primary
use of all school facilities shall be for the benefit of students
and related school personnel. The Board may permit the use of
such facilities for social, recreational, and other purposes.
Any such use shall not interfere nor conflict with School District
Organizations.

Springfield Township School District facilities
were constructed by and are maintained principally by tax revenues,
which are generated primarily from local property taxes. The funds
collected by the School District for such purposes should be used
for school purposes. The School District reserves the right to
assess rental fees and/or service charges, as shall be determined
from time to time by the Board of School Directors, for the use
of School District facilities by non-school related agencies or
organizations.
All organizations that wish to use School District facilities
shall submit registration materials for pproval
prior to the submission of an application for a specific use,
as set forth in the attached Administrative Rules. Any unauthorized
use of school facilities will be prosecuted to the fullest extent
allowed by Pennsylvania law both criminally and in a civil action
for money damages. Trespassers will be held responsible for any
and all damage that results from their unauthorized use of school
property. Unauthorized users who hold permits for other activities,
may have their user privileges suspended or permanently revoked.
