702. GIFTS, GRANTS, DONATIONS
|
1. Purpose |
The Board recognizes that individuals and organizations
in the community may wish to contribute additional supplies or
equipment to the district schools or instructional program.

2.Authority

The Board may accept on behalf of the district
any gift of money or property for any purpose deemed suitable
by the Board.
In the event a gift is restricted as to purpose, it will only
be accepted with the agreement by the donor that the use of the
gift may be changed to another purpose by resolution of the Board,
when the Board determines, in its sole judgment, that the original
purpose may no longer be educationally appropriate.
All gifts shall become the property of the school district.
Upon recommendation by the administration, the Board reserves
the right to reject any gift or offer of a gift due to its age,
condition or lack of compatibility with district systems or educational
programs.

3.Delegation
of Responsibility

The Superintendent shall be responsible for acknowledging
receipt of such gifts, grants and/or donations and for expressing
the Board’s appreciation to the donor(s).
