In order to provide a high quality professional staff and to avoid any conflict of interest, the Board of School Directors of the School District of Springfield Township establishes this policy regarding the employment of relatives of Board members and administrators.
No person shall be hired in the District in any professional position who is related to any member of the Board or administrator. “Relative” is defined as parent, spouse, brother, sister, son, daughter, step-child, grandchild, nephew, niece, aunt or uncle, sister- or brother-in-law, daughter- or son-in-law, or any other relative living in the same household.
Where the status of relative occurs at a time after the date of employment of any administrator, the Superintendent shall have the right to transfer either the administrator or the relative into a position where the administrator has no direct supervisory or evaluative responsibility for the relative.
