130-AR. Homework
The Administrator Is Responsible For
- Communicating the philosophy and purpose of homework to teachers,
students, and parents.
- Monitoring the homework procedures within the school.
The Teacher Is Responsible For Homework Assignments That
- Are meaningful to the student.
- Are clearly stated and legible.
- Reinforce, enrich, and give practice related to academic skills.
- Involve processes or operations that have been introduced in class.
- Relate demands on a student's time to his/her grade level and ability.
- Include both daily activities and long range projects.
- Are reasonable in view of other assignments due at the same time.
- Are reviewed and evaluated after completion.
The Student Is Responsible For
- Understanding the requirements of assignments.
- Taking necessary books and materials home.
- Completing assignments clearly and legibly.
- Using a variety of resources related to assignments.
- Returning assignments when due.
The Parent Is Responsible For
- Maintaining an atmosphere conducive to study.
- Being generally aware of the student's assignments, as well as the
quality and thoroughness of the student's work.
- Encouraging the student to be independent and to strive for excellence.
(Assist when necessary but refrain from doing assignments for the
student).
- Balancing after-school activities against the essential activities
of the academic program.
