The Administrator Is Responsible For

1. Communicating the philosophy and purpose of homework to teachers, students, and parents.
2. Monitoring the homework procedures within the school.

The Teacher Is Responsible For Homework Assignments That

1. Are meaningful to the student.
2. Are clearly stated and legible.
3. Reinforce, enrich, and give practice related to academic skills.
4. Involve processes or operations that have been introduced in class.
5. Relate demands on a student's time to his/her grade level and ability.
6. Include both daily activities and long range projects.
7. Are reasonable in view of other assignments due at the same time.
8. Are reviewed and evaluated after completion.

The Student Is Responsible For

1. Understanding the requirements of assignments.
2. Taking necessary books and materials home.
3. Completing assignments clearly and legibly.
4. Using a variety of resources related to assignments.
5. Returning assignments when due.

The Parent Is Responsible For

1. Maintaining an atmosphere conducive to study.
2. Being generally aware of the student's assignments, as well as the quality and thoroughness of the student's work.
3. Encouraging the student to be independent and to strive for excellence. (Assist when necessary but refrain from doing assignments for the student).
4. Balancing after-school activities against the essential activities of the academic program.
