121-AR. Field Trips

Field trips shall be conducted within the following parameters:

  1. All trips are limited to the Greater Delaware Valley area, unless a further distance is approved by the Assistant Superintendent.
  2. Trips shall be planned so that students are absent from class for a minimum amount of school time.
  3. No overnight field trips may be taken without Board approval. Overnight trip requests should be received at least two (2) months before the proposed date of the trip. In the event of a team play-off game, where there is no opportunity to seek Board approval, the sponsor must obtain the Superintendent's approval for an overnight trip.
  4. No publicity or fund raising may occur until after a field trip has been tentatively approved by the Superintendent.
  5. Sponsors shall make every effort to minimize the costs to the school district and the students.
  6. Participation in an extra-curricular field trip shall not be a condition of participation in the activity, and students shall not be penalized for such non-participation.
  7. Field trips are designed to benefit a specific group of students. Therefore, in no instance may anyone ride a bus other than the driver and the students involved, except for the appropriate designated adults.
