112. Guidance Counseling

1.Purpose
Title 22
Sec. 7.1
et seq
|
A planned program of guidance counseling is an
integral part of the educational program of the schools. Such
a program can:
- Assist students in achieving their optimum growth.
- Enable students to draw the greatest benefit from the offerings
of the instructional program of the schools.
- Aid students in identifying options and making choices in
vocational, academic and educational planning.
- Assist students in career awareness and planning.

2.Authority
|
A program of guidance and counseling shall be
offered to all students in grades K 12 and shall involve the coordinated
efforts of all staff members under the professional leadership
of certificated guidance and counseling personnel.

3.Delegation
of Responsibility
|
The Superintendent or designee is directed to
implement a guidance program which carries out stated purposes.
