qualifications
To qualify for the Life Experience Education Program, a student must:
- Be in 12th grade.
- Be passing all subjects
- Have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average, as calculated at the end of Semester 1 Senior year
- Have no failing grade in Marking Period 4 or 5 of Senior year
- Attend the LEEP meeting
- Have parental permission to participate in the program
- Find a community sponsor who agrees to provide a 5-day program of sound educational value, without pay, for five hours a day (not including lunch) and for five days a week
- Submit the LEEP application and LEEP proposal forms (see Proposal) as outlined in the "Application Procedures for Acceptance into the Life Experience Education Program"
application procedures
- Both the application and the proposal must be completed and submitted to the PATHWAYS
Coordinator on or before Friday April 30, 2010.
- The student, the parent, and the community sponsor must sign the application.
- The application and proposal will be presented to the PATHWAYS Coordinator for approval or rejection.
Proposal criteria:
- Must be a valid educational experience, preferably one that is related to the student's career goals/aspirations. Non-educational experiences will not be accepted.
- Must be a bona fide, non-paid experience that requires a 6-day release time from school.
- Must be a proposal reflecting the student's interests/aptitudes.
- When the student is accepted into the program, the student and his/her parents will be notified.
- The program will begin on Friday, June 4, 2010 and end on Monday, June 14, 2010
