The Board requires that each candidate for graduation shall have earned twenty-seven (27) credits and meet District requirements for proficiency as set forth in Administrative Rule 217. Effective for the class of 2014 each candidate for graduation shall have earned twenty-eight (28) credits and meet District requirements for proficiency as set forth in Administrative Rule. The fourth year of high school shall not be required if the student has been accepted by an accredited institution of higher learning and has completed all requirements for graduation. Credits are earned by successful completion of courses.Language Arts: 5 creditsSocial Studies: 4 creditsMathematics: 3/4 credits**Science: 3 creditsArts and Humanities: 2 creditsPhysical Education: 1.5 credits (Must be taken three (3) years)Health: 0.50 creditSenior Thesis: 0.50 creditBusiness and Technology .50 creditElectives: 7/8 credits
Minimum Graduation Requirements: 27/28 credits
Exceptions to the above require Superintendent approval. Students who do not meet proficiency standards of the 11th grade math PSSA and attend the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (ECAT) must meet the mathematics standards for their Program at ECAT. Revised: March 15, 2011 |
