Specialists Serving Springfield Elementary Schools
In addition to our excellent faculty of grade level teachers, we have an outstanding group of specialists who provide a variety of important services to our children. Please note how these people work collaboratively with the classroom teachers and each other for the benefit of the children.

Guidance
Mrs. Florence Egan - Erdenheim Campus
Ms. Nancy Kenworthy - Enfield Campus
The guidance counselor provides individual and group counseling as well as teaching a developmental classroom guidance program. She is a key contact for students, staff and parents in need of emotional, social and/or academic support. In addition to offering counseling services within the school, she acts as a resource person who can provide referrals to outside agencies for a variety of issues and concerns.
Nurse and Health Educator

Mrs. Cathy Murphy - Certified School Nurse, Enfield Campus
The goal of the Health program is to assure that every child receives proper health care. Mrs. Ostrow supports the homeroom teachers in providing: classroom instruction; yearly assessments of vision, hearing and nutritional status; appropriate ongoing services for illness or accident; and good communication with parents who cooperate in our immunization, medical and dental health programs.
Administering medication to students in school is sometimes a necessity. Please cooperate with the policy of our Board of School Directors which requires both a doctor's note AND a parental note authorizing the dispensing of EACH specific medication to your child. Language Arts Specialist
Mrs. Marilyn Henry - Language Arts Specialist, Erdenheim Campus
Mrs. Patti Hogue- Language Arts Specialist, Enfield Campus
Our Language Arts Specialists coordinate the overall Language Arts program. They screen new students in Second through Fourth Grades as well as coordinates the ongoing Language Arts assessment of all students. They provides remedial and corrective instruction to children in all Language Arts skills. She reinforces specific needs by re-teaching and providing opportunities for extra practice. She may work in her own classroom or support the teacher and flexible groups of students within the homeroom setting.
Learning Support Teachers
Mrs. Cindy VanHorn - Erdenheim Campus
Mrs. Carol Irwin - Erdenheim Campus
Mrs. Jane White - Enfield Campus
Mrs. Amy McKinney - Enfield Campus
These learning support teachers work with children who have been identified as requiring special instruction. Each child's strengths and needs are assessed and an Individualized Education Plan is developed. Instruction is provided on a daily basis in specified academic areas. Non-academic supportive services are also provided.
Speech and Language Clinician
Mrs. Debra Popp-DiPietro - Erdenheim & Enfield Campus
Mrs. Popp-DiPietro works with children who need support with speech articulation as well with oral expression and/or comprehension. Her services may include practice with specific speech sounds. It may also include vocabulary, sentence length, word order or grammar. Mrs. Popp-DiPietro's efforts will be coordinated with the child's homeroom teacher and any other specialist who provides services to a given student.
Enrichment Teacher
Mrs. Pamela McCue - Erdenheim & Enfield Campus
Ms. McCue teaches the Enrichment Program to children in Second, Third and Fourth Grades at both Erdenheim and Enfield Elementary Campuses. The Enrichment Program serves the needs of children who have been identified as having exceptional intellectual abilities and/or talents. Developing the writing process, encouraging higher order thinking skills, and extending the grade level math curriculum are all emphasized in this part-time, pull out program.
