Erdenheim's Vision

A vision for Erdenheim

The mission of the School District of Springfield Township, a community of learners, committed to the pursuit of excellence, is to ensure that each student possesses a comprehensive body of knowledge and skills essential to be a creative and critical thinker, a life-long learner, and a responsible, contributing member of a diverse society by providing a nurturing, stimulating and challenging environment which incorporates an array of learning experiences.

The mission of our district and the vision we share with you for The Erdenheim Campus connect to light the path for the academic and social journey encountered by each of our students. The elementary years of our boys and girls are the foundation upon which the educational growth of our students is built. Kindergarten through fourth grade students are developing, growing and learning. They acquire many new academic and social skills. They find avenues in which to express their understanding of knowledge by designing a personal way to connect and demonstrate that which they are learning. It is important that we, as educators and parents, work in tandem to create the environment in which students are able to demonstrate their best. We'd like to take a moment and reflect on the following...

What is your perception of elementary school?

What we see are children coming to the Erdenheim Campus...some by bus...some by car...some as walkers. They are full of excitement. They are eager to learn, to do their best, to have fun, and to be successful.

Some of our students will find it easier than others to learn; however, all of our students try to do their best, want to have fun and wish to be successful.

It is important that we have a picture of all of our children in order for us to strive to develop a comprehensive environment in which we address the whole child.

Our students are the reason for our school. It is because of them and for them that the future exists. It is important to keep in mind that the boys and girls are here to learn. They will be learning to read, to write, to solve math problems and to use technology. Equally important to us is that our students learn to deal peacefully with others, to develop friendships, to become responsible decision makers, to effectively manage their time, to appreciate the arts, to be physically fit and to develop healthy habits. These experiences provide a solid foundation that will support out Erdenheim students beyond their elementary years.

Every adult who is a part of The Erdenheim Campus has a unique opportunity to help shape the future through the role we choose to play as we guide our boys and girls along their journey.

Teachers...to provide classroom environment which encourages the best in every student, to model the best in ourselves, to create daily activities and lessons that result in student growth, and to attend to the needs of the class and the individual.

Parents...to assure that their children come to school prepared to do their best with completed homework assignments, with enough rest and with having had nourishment.

Principal...to provide a school wide environment that encourages educational leadership, expects educational excellence, supports a collaborative environment, strives to address the needs of the whole child in preparation for each student's role as a student.

Our boys and girls are charged with the responsibility to do their best and to show exemplary behavior.

We are reminded of the African Proverb...
It takes a village to raise a child...

we believe it takes the entire Erdenheim Family working together to provide an educational experience rich in content and purpose to develop caring responsible adults.
