Wendy L. Royer
Monthly Letter to the Springfield Township School District Community- November 2009
Dr. Royer completed a B.S. degree in early childhood and special education
from West Chester University. She completed her M.S. in Curriculum and
Instruction while on an academic fellowship from Pennsylvania State
University. She spent a year in the Instructional Systems doctoral program
at Penn State as she served as a graduate assistant for the Department
of Education. Mrs. Royer received her elementary and secondary administrative
certificate from Shippensburg University. She received her doctorate
in instructional leadership from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Dr. Royer has a background as a preschool teacher, special education
teacher, instructional support teacher, assistant high school principal,
elementary principal, and adjunct instructor for Pennsylvania State
University. Prior to coming to the School District of Springfield Township,
she was the Director of Elementary Education for the West Shore School
District in the Harrisburg area. She has worked extensively in the area
of school discipline and classroom management, and has conducted staff
development workshops in several school districts.
Dr. Royer and her husband Dade have two sons. Tyler lives in Salt Lake
City, Utah and Jared lives in New Cumberland, Pa.
